It's really easy to focus on where you want to go, or how you aren't where you want to be.
Truly I feel like this is a tale as old as time.
But today, I really stopped and looked at where I've been. How much I've accomplished. Even in just one year I've come so far!
Am I where I want to be? No.
But I'm further than I was before.
So that's what this blog post is for today, to reflect on how far I have come.
I published my first book in 2013. FOUR YEARS ago come October.
Surviving Valentine popped my author cherry, and I wrote it simply because I could. I have a wild imagination, and after reading so many books, I thought to myself. I should write books. and I did.
And did I make mistakes in it. You bet! I actually hate that story. I've had to re-edit 5 times plus, and I can't stand that story. But I learned from it.
I just published the book and let it be. Didn't market, didn't do any of that.
Fast forward to now.
I just finished writing my 11th book. 11 books!
I have met so many people in this book community. People that actually like my stories. HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT?!
I have over 3k likes on Facebook. Instagram has become a thing for me.
I have gotten to be a part of signings that I would have never dreamed of going to.
And while I may not be a super success by some people's standards, I'm doing better than I was 4 years ago.
And I keep learning, and growing. And with every book release comes new readers and fans.
So I am going to hang out in this moment and feel cool.
I've come a long way.
It's crazy to think what all I will accomplish over the next few years.
Thank you guys for being there with me on my journey.
